The man, who lived in the neighbouring suburb of Mansfield, suffered head injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating, but police are asking for residents in the area, particularly on Stanmere Street, for CCTV footage that might assist.

It was the third major electric scooter incident in south-east Queensland this month.

On September 10, a 24-year-old man was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition after being involved in a crash with a car south-west of Brisbane.

The rider was on Finucane Road in Capalaba when he collided with a hatchback on Moreton Bay Road about 3.30pm.

On September 5, 24-year-old rider Jayden Morton was involved in a collision with an Uber vehicle at the corner of Edmondstone and Melbourne streets in South Brisbane.

He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

A friend, April Copeland – who was one of three people to set up a GoFundMe page – said Morton was in an induced coma because of swelling and bleeding to his brain.
