BMW Electric Scooter: BMW reveals all-electric CE 04 scooter | Leave a comment


German automaker BMW Motorrad has unveiled its all-new electric scooter, CE 04, as a key initiative in electrification and urban mobilty .
The concept of the futuristic e-scooter with latest technologies was showcased in 2017. The CE 04 electric scooter has now taken a tangible form with a forward-looking design and innovative technologies.
BMW CE 04 offers a powerful motor with ample battery cell capacity of 60.6 Ah (8.9 kWh) with the range of 130 km. It churns maximum output of 31 kW (42 hp) of power. The magnet electric motor is mounted in the frame between the battery and the rear wheel. Under traffic light start conditions, it accelerates from 0 to 50 km/h in just 2.6 seconds and offers the maximum speed of 120 km/h.

The lithium-ion battery is charged via integrated charging device which could be plugged either at a regular household socket, a wallbox or a public charging station. When the battery is completely flat, charging time ideally lasts 4 hours and 20 minutes. Using a quick charger available as an optional extra with an output of up to 6.9 kW, a flat battery can be charged in 1 hour and 40 minutes.
BMW CE 04 features three riding modes – ECO, Rain and Road as standard. It also has an additional Dynamic riding mode which helps the scooter accelerate at an even swifter pace.
The scooter is also embedded with ABS based powerful brake system and directionally stable suspension with one-piece tubular steel main frame, ensuring a high level of active safety. The scooter also provides a mobile phone charging compartment with USB-C charging port.

The BMW CE 04 comes with a 10.25-inch TFT colour screen with integrated map navigation and connectivity. It has LED based headlamp, rear light and indicators. The optional adaptive turning light Headlight Pro makes riding safer at night.
In terms of exterior appearance, it has a compact front apron, large side panels and a lean tail section with a bench-like seat. CE 04 electric scooter comes in two colour options. The standard one comes in light white colour with matt black sections. The Avant Garde Style trim gets a Magellan Grey metallic colour, with black/orange seat and an orange wind deflector.
