Ather Energy today expanded its presence in India to New Delhi after a few months delay. At the opening of the Experience Center, CEO Tarun Mehta unveiled a future product roadmap for startups.
The capital is one of India’s most driving markets for electric vehicles, thanks to strong subsidies and initiatives such as Switch Delhi. Due to a modified FAME II policy structure, the Ather 450X is priced at Rs1,32,426 and the Ather 450 Plus is priced at Rs1,13,416 in Delhi.
Delhi’s first AtherSpace Experience Center is located at Lajpat Nagar, and four more locations will appear at NCR in the near future. 14 fast charges are already installed in major locations such as Green Park, Dilshad Garden, Connaught Place, and other major hotspots in Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Ghaziabad. By the end of this year, 30 to 50 more Ather grids will be added.
And Delhi is alive now! We had a great session here. It took forever, but finally we are here. We are considering more openings in the coming months! pic.twitter.com/bUPMItvpkhJuly 2, 2021
The first quarter of 2021 is Ather Energy’s best-ever quarter, with sales growth of 250%, showroom test rides six-fold, expansion to 13 cities, and 63 additional high speeds. The charger was assembled 32% faster. 9,200 scooters were produced each month, and the unit’s profitability was achieved for the first time.
More interestingly, CEO Tarnmefta talked about plans for the future of Other Energy. By the end of 2022, we will install 500 charging points, increase the annual production capacity to 500,000 by the end of 2011, and provide services to 100 cities throughout India.
They also confirmed that the product portfolio was expanded to accommodate other segments and grew the Ather 450 platform (a new scooter with slightly different specifications). However, for at least the next two years, electric motorcycles are not an immediate priority.
