A suspected drink-driver who fell off an electric scooter which led to his passenger sustaining a serious leg injury is due in court.
Tom Worrall was driving the VOI scooter when it was involved in an accident when travelling along Great George Street, in the city centre.
It happened just after midnight on Tuesday.
A male passenger also fell off and suffered a serious ankle injury.
Worrall, 28, was spoken to by officers and given a roadside test.
The Aigburth man, of Dalmeny Street, was charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level about limit and bailed to appear in court on June 29.
He was more than twice over the limit.
Police have strongly advised electric scooter riders not to carry passengers, but seeing two people aboard the vehicles is now a common sight across Liverpool.
However, one expert said: One of the most common misuses of electric scooters is riding with a passenger.
