Upcoming Ola electric scooter teased; paint options’ details revealed
It is common knowledge that Ola, the ride hailing service provider, is gearing up to launch its own electric scooter in India. Even if you hadn’t heard about the company’s upcoming e scooter in India, there is a good chance that you have read or heard about at least the Ola factory. We will discuss that in just a minute — first, allow us to tell you that Bhavish Aggarwal, co-founder, Ola, recently teased the upcoming EV in India. In addition to offering a good look at the e scooter’s front, Aggarwal also offered an interesting new detail about the Ola EV. In the tweet teasing the vehicle, he also asked users what colours they would like to see for the e scooter before adding that black is already taken care of.
He tweeted, “Time to order some paint! What color would you like on the Ola Scooter? Already got you covered for Black! What else? @OlaElectric”.
While Ola Electric has not revealed a launch date for its electric scooter, several reports off late have claimed that it could happen within the next few months. These claims appear to be based on the company’s interest in supplying the electric scooter to Convergence Energy Services Ltd (CESL). Guess we will have to wait to find out about it, won’t we?
About the Ola EV factory — it was first announced in December 2020, when the company signed a ₹2,400 crore Memorandum of Understaning with the government of Tamil Nadu. Work has been long underway on the factory that will be spread across a 500-acre site and offer an initial annual production capacity of 2 million units.
