Two electric scooter riders have suffered serious injuries after they were hit by a car at a busy junction.
The two female riders were struck yesterday evening, at about 6.50pm, at the junction of Mulgrave Street, Grove Street and Upper Parliament Street in Toxteth.
Police said both riders were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Their ages have not been disclosed.
The driver of the car, a black Ford Fiesta, was not injured.
A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said today: “We are appealing for information following a collision in Liverpool yesterday (Tuesday 1 June).
“At around 6.50pm we received a report that an electric scooter was in collision with a black Ford Fiesta at the junction of Mulgrave Street, Grove Street and Upper Parliament Street.

“Emergency services attended the scene and the two female riders of the scooter were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
“The driver of the Ford Fiesta stopped at the scene, was uninjured and is assisting police with enquiries.
“Road closures put in place around Mulgrave Street have now been lifted and officers have spoken to witnesses at the scene.
