TWO robbers pushed a man off his electric bicycle before making off with it and unsuccessfully loading it into a car nearby.
The incident took place in Kinson Road, at the junction with Canford Avenue, at around 1.40pm on Tuesday, May 18.
The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was stationary on his electric bicycle when he heard shouting from behind.
He turned around and saw two men approaching him. They pushed him off the bicycle and one cycled off on it down Canford Avenue, with the other man running alongside.
They were seen to turn into Daws Avenue and attempted to load the bicycle into a waiting black car, but were unsuccessful. The car drove off and the man on the bicycle left in the direction of Turbary Park Avenue.
The stolen electric bicycle was a black Delfast Top 3.0 worth around £5,000.
The offenders were described as white and wearing dark-coloured tracksuits and face masks.
PC Robin Morgan, of Bournemouth police, said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries into this robbery to try and identify the men responsible.
“This incident occurred in the middle of the day in a busy area and I am appealing to anyone who witnesses what happened, or who was driving in the area and may have captured something relevant on dashcam, to please contact us.
“I would also like to hear from anyone who comes across an electric bike matching the description given above being offered for sale locally in unusual circumstances.”
