The 6th annual Lost Sierra Electric Bike Festival is a 2021 opportunity to connect with people who share a passion for Electric Bikes and the great outdoors. The three-day Electric Bike Festival includes camping, electric bike racing/demos, BBQ and festivities.
The stunningly beautiful region of the Sierra Nevada in the high alpine offers the spectacular features of the Sierra Buttes, Gold Lake, Graeagle and the gold rush town turned mountain bike Mecca, Downieville, which is the hub of the electric biking event: Lost Sierra.
Attendees can camp at the Diamond S Ranch Friday, July 23, and Saturday night, July 24, and stay put for a buffet-style Western BBQ in a traditional Dutch barn Saturday night. Music and videos with family and friends will follow dinner.
Guided tours of the area will be provided.
Early Bird All Festival Pass for Camping on Friday and Saturday night July 23/24 including unlimited race entries, electric bike demos & BBQ is $199. The price goes up to $299 on June 1st.
Water and bathrooms will be available on site.
Three races cancel this season
Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship has opted to cancel annual mountain gravel grinder biking events for 2021 due to Covid concerns or restrictions and have set new dates for 2022. The courses are, at the very least, extreme so having over a year to prep to make the ride or compete is not unreasonable.
Lost and Found around Lake Davis near Portola will run June 4, 2022. The on-site check in is at Portola City Park from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday June 3 and race start times the next morning are from 6 – 8 a.m. Race course distances are 36-mile, 65 and 106-miles.
Next up is the Downieville Classic, the oldest race of the Triple Crown. The 2022 date is Aug. 4-7. Course route distances are 30,60 and 100-miles with 7000’ feet of elevation gain and an 80 percent dirt track.
The final jewel is the formerly named “Grinduro,” now titled “Mountain to Meadow” centered at Plumas Sierra Fairgrounds in Quincy and circling the areas of Mount Hough. The target date for this race is Sept. 21-27, 2022.
Those are the cancelled people-powered bike ride events of Plumas County but, again, the Lost Sierra electric bike festival is moving forward.
