An e-scooter rider is fighting for his life after a crash involving a black Hackney cab.

Emergency services raced to East Prescot Road near the junction with Blackmoor Drive at 11pm yesterday.

It was reported the rider of a private Epicstuff sit-on e-scooter had crashed with a taxi.

The 19-year-old rider of the e-scooter has been left fighting for his life after being rushed to hospital with a serious head injury.

Merseyside Police have described his condition as critical.

The driver of the cab was uninjured and stopped at the scene to assist police.

Road closures that had been put in place have now been lifted and officers have spoken to witnesses.
