An electric scooter rider has been left with ‘life-changing injuries’ after being knocked down in a hit-and-run driver in Croydon.
A car crashed into the scooter rider at about 12.45pm on March 18 in Thornton Heath High Street, near the junction with Grange Road and Whitehorse Lane.
Both Metropolitan Police officers and paramedics from London Ambulance Service attended the scene shortly afterwards, and the scooter rider was taken to a South London hospital.
The man is currently there receiving treatment for his injuries, which have been described as ‘potentially life-changing’.
The driver of the car did not stop at the scene following the collision, and police are currently appealing for both witnesses and any information that may help track them down.
The police believe that the car was dark-coloured, but do not have any further details. There have been no arrests yet and police continue to investigate.
The police are looking to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or captured it on dashcam footage. Anyone with information can call 101 quoting CAD 3233/18MAR21.
