HAYWARD, Calif. (BRAIN) — Globally, Bianchi has launched an expansive new e-bike product line, which includes city, touring and mountain bike models and a 3D online custom bike configurator.
The full line, called E-Omnia, uses Bosch’s Performance Line CX motor.
“The ‘Omnia’ in its name – it means ‘everything’ in Latin – mirrors the ambition of Bianchi Lif-e Electric Intelligence program’s latest platform: to be your perfect e-bike, the bike for every kind of rider,” said Bianchi’s CEO, Fabrizio Scalzotto.
European customers will be able to use the online customizer to pick colors, features and specifications, with 8,500 possible combinations. For example, consumers will be able to specify a chain or belt drivetrain, the addition of a kickstand or rack, and the frame colors from the Bianchi Signature Collection in addition to the two standard colors offered for each model.
The E-Omnia platform offers safety features including integrated lights at the front, side, and rear. An ABS braking system is also available on some models.
The line includes C-Type city bikes; the T-Type touring bikes; the FX-Type full-suspension mountain bikes; and the X-Type, a hardtail mountain bike line. The full E-Omnia line includes eight models.
In the U.S., Bianchi will initially bring in four of the new E-Omnia models, said Bianchi USA CEO Pat Hus.
“We are bringing in the full suspension E-Omnia FX model along with the T-Type models in mens and womens and also the C-Type step-through bike. We’re bringing in the chain-drive versions to begin with and will evaluate the belt drive systems for the future,” Hus said.
Hus said he expected the new models to be available in the U.S. in June.
Bianchi USA also offers the Aria E-Road and the Impulso E All-Road gravel bike. He expects the Impulso E to be available in USA by April or May.
Hus said the custom online configurator will not be available in the U.S. initially.
