The unusual giveaway is to warn against ‘drink riding’ of the scooters in the run up to Christmas.
From Friday afternoon, the first 100 Lime users will be directed to BrewDog’s bar in Midsummer Boulevard, CMK, where they can pick up a takeaway can of “Punk AF”, BrewDog’s leading non-alcoholic beer,
The partnership is part of the provider’s new “Safer with Lime” Christmas campaig., will see Lime users directed to BrewDog’s bar in Milton Keynes, where they can pick up a takeaway can of “Punk AF”, BrewDog’s leading non-alcoholic beer.
They will also be given to other free safety equipment, including reflective snap bands and Lime branded collapsible helmets. And, for those that miss out, there will be further alcohol free giveaways between the two brands planned in the run up to Christmas.
James Brown, managing director of BrewDog Bars said: “We’re excited to be working with Lime on their Christmas safety campaign. Alcohol free does not mean taste free and we’re here to prove that riders can enjoy a festive beer whilst staying safe this Christmas.”
Florence Milner, Lime’s General Manager for UK and Ireland said: “Drink riding is an important safety issue over the festive season. We’re proud to be partnering with BrewDog as part of our Christmas safety campaign to remind local residents that it’s best to stick to “Lime and Soda” – or other punkier non-alcoholic alternatives – when riding.”
Lime already uses in-app cognitive tests and reminders to prevent drink riding. As part of its “Safer with Lime” Christmas campaign, these safeguards will be boosted for the festive season.
Users will have to display their Lime app to claim a free non-alcoholic beer, and will be required to show ID to prove they are 18 or over.
Lime has run a successful e-scooter trial scheme in Milton Keynes since late August, delivering almost 70,000 zero carbon rides to date.
